Welcome!

Is it time for you to get back to the beach?  Come play and stay at the Breezeway Motel & Restaurant on Topsail Island and capture the magic of a pure beach vacation. Whether you come by land or by sea, it's easy to get to the Breezeway!

Cast a line from the Breezeway fishing pier or launch a boat and leave dry land behind.  Take a dip in the pool or the ocean, build a sandcastle or hit the greens at one of the many fine golf courses in the area.  Let's not forget the romantic stroll on the beach.  The choice is yours.

The Breezeway is located on Topsail Sound (Banks Channel), just a block and a half to the ocean.  The Breezeway is also close to the Turtle Hospital and the Missiles and More Museum.  With its long history, the Breezeway Motel and Restaurant is an icon in Topsail Beach and has also been featured in Topsail Magazine (read the Topsail Magazine article here).

Dive and Fishing Charters are available.  In fact, being located on the south end of Topsail Island, North Carolina, we have access to some world class spearfishing. Gag grouper in the 10 to 25 pound range and hog fish in the 5 to 20 pound range are very common.  Sheepshead, cobia and many other delicious fish are among the popular local fishing catches and spiny lobsters are also abundant... and HUGE!

You'll dive 20 to 45 miles off shore. With many productive dive sites, we are able to avoid over diving any one spot.  Depths will average 90' to 110'. Divers for this type of diving must be at least AOW and Nitrox certified. Water temperatures vary from the 80's in the summer to the 60's in the early spring.

We also offer shark tooth dives for the very prestigious Megalodon sharks teeth. These dive depths will average 90' to 100'. Again, divers must be at least AOW and nitrox certified.

Dives in the 60' to 80' range are also available. You can explore man made reefs as well as natural reef.

Our boat meets all U.S. Coast Guard requirements for 6-pack charters.

About The Area

Situated at the southern end of Topsail Island off the coast of southeastern North Carolina, the Town of Topsail Beach is the smallest of the three communities located on the 26-mile long island.  North Topsail Beach occupies the northernmost section, and Surf City, the largest town on the island, is the center.  The island is just off US Highway 17 near Hampstead, about halfway between Wilmington and Jacksonville.  Topsail shares its zip code with Surf City and Holly Ridge.

Rich with history, local folklore claims the name Topsail (pronounced Tops'l), which originated during the 18th century when pirate ships roamed the coastal waters.

Prior to World War II, the only access to Topsail Island was by boat.  Local residents frequently made the short trip and would picnic on the beaches of the Atlantic.  Many a treasure hunter have searched for the infamous buried treasure of Blackbeard throughout the forests which covered the island.

Topsail experiences a seasonal influx of tourists, increasing the population to about 7,000.  This helps sustain many area businesses.

Topsail Beach is truly a great place to visit or spend a lifetime!  To learn even more about Topsail Beach, visit www.topsailbeach.org, www.visitpender.com, or check our area real estate listings and beach rentals from Kathy Cherry.
